Wishing you a frag filled festive season…
Blinding lights in every direction and throngs of students in Christmassy outfits parading the town at every opportunity, the festive season has once again arrived in Nottingham. 2008 is coming to a close at long last and what a year it’s been. Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Fable II, MGS4, Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet, GTA IV – 2008 has literally been crammed full of outstanding video games.
In fact, this year has seen so many must-have titles that it’s sad to see some of them go unnoticed, next to the brand-pumping weight of franchises with bags of marketing money behind them. Looking back on our own immediate past, our travels at GameCity have been detailed and well documented. We’re also hard at work on getting yet more breakout video games coverage to you, so expect more news early next year. If you’ve got suggestions of your own for features, reviews or reports just give us a buzz.
Well, before you shove on your own reindeer antlers and join your fellow partygoers, allow me to recommend a few choice titles to help you get the most out of your gaming time this Christmas. Everyone loves a good social evening, so why not encourage some friendly banter with LittleBigPlanet, Lips or Rock Band 2. For the more hardcore, there’s Call of Duty: World at War, Resistance 2 and Gears of War 2, all of which boast solid co-op and online modes. Strapped for cash in this economic chaos? Why not invest in a couple quality PS2 games or downloadable games from PSN, Xbox Live Arcade or Wii Virtual Console.
All of us here at Platform would like to wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We’ll be back in 2009 to bring you even more eclectic video games & technology coverage from all of Nottingham and beyond.
