…from a bed @ GameCity 3!
If you’re familiar with the UK podcast scene chances are you’ll have heard of One Life Left, the gaming podcast with an impromptu satirical edge. Hosted by Ste Curran, Simon Byron and Ann Scantlebury, this special live appearance took place on the first floor of Mogel-E-Azam and I arrived just in time for the start of the show.
Settling into the bed, the hosts made themselves comfortable and started the show with the usually run down of news (with a little help from Eurogamer), some beautifully explicit and risqué poems read aloud, to the delight of his fans, by Craig ‘The Rage’ McClellan and some fantastic live music from the doyouinverts. But it didn’t stop there. They tested the Wikipedia community’s speed at eradicating video games lies such as “Dom from Gears of War is bi-curious.” After consulting their trusty book of officially recognised video game world records the OLL team decided they’d try their hand at a few of their own. Unfortunately Guinness may take some issue with their five unofficial world records. So along with the customary reader mail and audience participation segments, this evening with One Life Left was certainly one to remember.
Listen to OLL team recap their Nottingham adventures.
You can catch the One Life Left crew every week on Resonance FM and at onelifeleft.com.
