Welcome to Platform Online

Welcome to Platform Online – Your daily source for student life and beyond.

Yes, it’s taken us a while to reach the digital space, but, at last, here we are.

Platform, Nottingham Trent Students’ Union Magazine, has long been an escape from the ups and downs of student life.

Hard news on issues affecting students locally and nationally. Insightful interviews with musicians, VIPs and people from all walks of life. An intelligent eye on culture – with music, film, games, sports, arts and fashion prominently investigated. All this and more in a full colour magazine lovingly produced year after year.

So, our remit for Platform Online is to provide the same high-quality coverage every weekday. Not only that, we’ll have web-exclusives, like uncut interviews with famous people, reviews of the latest blockbusters, opinion posts from fellow students, the scoop on Union activities and lots more.

This isn’t an extension of the magazine – Platform Online is a whole new horizon.

Our team of talented writers, reporters and critics have been hard at work all summer preparing lots of exciting content to start this digital-vessel on its journey.

Our new Flickr stream will also be regularly updated with photos showcasing everything from student nights to the varsity charity series. We’re also on Facebook and Twitter, so you’re welcome to join the community.

Before signing off, I’d like to personally thank the great people who have made this website possible: Stephanie Combs, Glen Davies, Amy Gathercole, Matt Proudfoot, Andrew Trendell and David Cameron Walker.

Student life isn’t easy. Pressure comes thick and fast from university, work, social relationships and the world at large. We’d like to offer you a daily escape, something that’s informative, entertaining and inspiring.

On behalf of the entire Platform team, I truly hope you enjoy reading Platform Online.

Please feel free to send us your questions and comments: platform@su.ntu.ac.uk.
