GameCity 4: New music game from PaRappa the Rapper creator, Masaya Matsuura
PaRappa the Rapper creator and president of NanaOn-Sha, Masaya Matsuura, delivered the BAFTA Vision Statement this year at GameCity.
Matsuura-san unveiled WINtA (War Is Not the Answer), a new music rhythm game in development for the iPhone, and then proceeded to demo it live. WINtA is part of a larger charity initiative called OneBigGame.
More than 120 people filled the ballroom to witness Matsuura’s vision for the future of music games. During his presentation, he explored what part music plays in society and his own life as a musician.
“I am very proud to be part of an industry that is truly without boards,” said Matsuura.
Matsuura hopes that, as music and games continue to evolve, creators will use them as a force for positive expression.
Closing his talk, Matsuura said, “the future is in our hands, so let’s all do what we can to make it bright.”
