Review: SingStar Take That

Review: SingStar Take That

“You and me we can ride on a star”

Format: PS3 (version played), PS2 Dev: London Studio Pub: Sony
Out: 06/11/09 Players: 1-8

Love ’em or loathe ’em, Take That are a band that never seem to want to die. So, arguably the words of their most famous song (specifically at Trent), ‘Back for Good’, could possibly be true.

Credit where credits due though, they’ve stood the test of time; I can easily remember when they split up and when Robbie left back in the 1990’s and the older girls in the school playground bawled their eyes out as they ripped up their t-shirts and tore Smash Hits posters down that once adorned their walls.

Then came the noughties and saw four of the lads’ reform, reinvent and make one of the best comebacks music as ever seen. So, on the evidence, it only seems fair that they join Queen and ABBA to celebrate their ‘Greatest Day’.

The great thing about this edition of SingStar is that it incorporates both the old and the new, so it caters for the fans when Robbie was involved and the ones since his departure, as it offers an entire selection of tunes from the boys and their back catalogue as well as newer hits.

All the My SingStar features available on the PS3 edition continue to benefit from game updates, like Trophies and even a video editor – so, you can publish only your very best bits to SingStar-cyberspace for all the world to witness.

It’s a cracking edition to the franchise and I suspect will become a firm karaoke favourite for the girls and the boys before a night out.
