G5 Summit ready for ideas

GameCity are calling for people to provide ideas and feedback to help shape their fifth video game festival.

The team behind GameCity today announced the G5 Summit, inviting people interested in games to join them at the end of the month to discuss changes and improvements for the coming GameCity 5 festival.

GameCity loves everything and anything associated with play, and gives it a cultural approach accessible for any and all.

This month’s event will tease the audience with festival line-up news and ask them to shape the acts with their input. Talk about what they liked, or didn’t like, about the four previous festivals and discuss measures to promote the brilliance of the gaming world.

GameCity director, Iain Simons, said: “The G5 Summit is a call to ambassadors to tackle incredibly important issues and reflect on past endeavours in an open discussion. Their knowledge and wisdom will surely usher GameCity into a bright new dawn. Together, we say, ‘YES, WE CAN’.”

Previously, the GameCity festival has played host to zombie world records, kazoo orchestras and special announcements. It’s also hosted appearances by some of the industries finest creatives, including Lorne Lanning, Keita Takahashi, Masaya Matsuura, Jonathan Smith, David Braben, Media Molecule, thatgamecompany, Zoë Mode, Bizarre Creations and Crytek UK.

The GameCity 5 Summit will take place at Antenna, Nottingham, on Friday, August 27 at 7.30pm. Admittance is £3, over 18s with ID. Due to limited capacity, attendance must be pre-booked at www.gamecity.org/events/tickets.

GameCity 5 takes place in Nottingham on Oct 26-30 2010.
