ITV Dating Show Searches for New Contestants

Sick and tired of being single? Are you willing to look for love anywhere? Well ITV1 is giving the opportunity to all single guys and gals to appear in their new series of ‘Take Me Out’.

‘Take Me Out’, for those who aren’t familiar with it, is a dating game show hosted by comedian Paddy McGuiness.  It centres around one adventurous man trying to hook one date from 30 gorgeous women. The guy has to try to impress these ladies in his own unique way, but each of the females are equipped with a white light which they switch off if they’re turned off by what they see or hear. Sounds a bit harsh, but there’s more.

If the guy is fortunate enough to have interested women (with lights on) by the end of the final round, he gets to choose which lucky girl to go on a date with. But if all lights are red, he leaves alone. It’s a game of Russian roulette, carrying its own risks of humiliation or rejection. But it’s all in the name of love! Plus you never know, you might even meet The One.

Emily Stone, 21, who is studying Foundation Physics at NTU said, “I think I would go on Take Me Out, it seems like it would be a fun experience and since I’m not the kind of person who gets embarrassed easily it would be a bit of a laugh.

“If I was to meet someone through it, then fine, people have met in weirder ways and if not then you know it would still be an experience to tell folks about.”

The new show will appear on our screens on Saturday nights in early 2011.

So if you’re up for it, go for it.
