THERE was an emphatic victory for the Trent Women’s football team last week, as they roared to a 14-0 victory over their biggest rivals.
Hat-tricks from Alexandra Johnson and Jade Brooks helped to see off Beeston in convincing fashion.
The vocal crowd who turned out to watch were given a real treat from the very start, as Trent peppered the Beeston goal with shots.
By half time the score stood at 7-0 – all goals being scored from outside of the 18-yard box, with captain Hayley Jones and Johnson pushing forward at every opportunity.
The second half saw more of the same, as Trent were relentless and unmerciful in their pursuit of goals.
Beeston looked for a consolation goal, but were denied even that by keeper, Emily Draper.
Four goal hero, Johnson was delighted with the performance, albeit surprised at the lack of a threat from the opposition.
She said: “The defence were faultless, the midfield held their ground and the attack did what they did best.
“All in all it has to be said Beeston were simply awful.”
