It’s the biggest morning in the Hollywood calendar today as the Academy makes it’s nominations known ahead of the 2011 Oscar ceremony.
While this years nominations were all relatively expected, there were a few surprises – Inception mastermind Christopher Nolan missing out on a Directorial nod being perhaps the most noticeable.
British film The King’s Speech leads the nominations with 12 over all, ahead of True Grit which has 10, and Inception and The Social Network tied for 8 a piece.
The major nominations were announced this morning by Academy president Tom Sherak, and last years Supporting Actress winner Mo’Nique. You can find that list of nominations below, with the more complete list available at www.oscars.go.com
What are your reactions to the announcements? Any thing particularly surprise you? Any noticeable absences? Even any early predictions on which way the Academy will vote come February 27th? Let us know in the comments below.
