Red Sky July’s debut album is a mix of rich instrumental talent and smooth lyrics producing a warm alt-folk sound that is easy to listen to.
Husband and wife Shelley Poole (Alisha’s Attic) and Ally McErlaine (Texas) have joined forces with American singer and personal friend Charity Hair (The Alice Band) to create an album of unique harmonies that perfectly compliment some fantastic lyrical writing.
The album consists of 12 tracks ranging from more upbeat tempo tracks such as ‘Evening Song’, to the majestic mellow tones of ‘Morning Song’ which is the first track on the album to be released as a single on October 31st.
You should definitely check this album out if you enjoy folk music with a slight country twist or if you just fancy giving something new a chance.
The extremely laid back lyrics in ‘The Gold Hour’ make it Platform’s top track on the album.
