Critically acclaimed electronica duo Walls are due to play The Rescue Rooms on Wednesday 26th October to celebrate the unveiling of VICE’s brand new website. The special launch party will also feature a set from I Am Lono, Kirk Spencer and Rescue Rooms regular Dollop DJ. This party is set to an unmissable event, and the best thing is – it’s free.
For those who are unaware of Walls, they received a 9/10 review from NME for their debut LP on Kompakt Records and also picked up the Mojo Electronica Album of the Year. They’re second album ‘Coracle’ is also gathering widespread interest and thus, they are looking set to dominate the electronica music industry. Needless to say, they’re well worth seeing.
I Am Lono is the pairing of Matthew Cooper and David Startin, and they will be sure to get the crowd moving with their class tunes. The Nottingham duo, like Walls, is not to be missed. Their fan base is rightly growing, and if you want to check them out before the event you can find their BandPage on facebook.
Experimental Nottingham based DJ Kirk Spencer is currently receiving national airplay. BBC Radio 1 DJ Nihal has been championing his track Flying Through India. The promising DJ’s music is influenced by acclaimed Hudson Mohawk and The Prodigy, but expect to hear an eclectic mix of tunes from the upcoming star, including some heavy dubstep beats.
If all this wasn’t enough, American Apparel will also be at the party to hand out free giveaways to first 100 people, so get in the queue early to grab a freebie before the carnage even ensues.
Entrance is free and more information about the event can be found here.
