The Legend of Zelda becomes the Legacy of Zelda at this year of GameCity as they look to celebrate the 25th anniversary of one of the most loved and iconic videogame series (time flies when you’re having fun!)
On Saturday 29 October, fans can get a first look at the upcoming release of Skyward Sword as well as indulge in a whole host of activities centred on The Legend of Zelda. GameCity has their sights set on a world record, as they team up with the Official Nintendo Magazine, in an attempt to recruit 6 brave souls to play through every game in the series from start to finish, in a tag team.
Old Market Square will be transformed into a Hyrulean market village and fans can set about their ‘Heroes Quest’ where they will be tasked to collect the pieces of the Triforce- not forgetting you get to build your own sword and shield! You’ll also be able to play the Ocarina on your quest following training sessions with the Ocarina Orchestra where themes from the franchise will be heard throughout the day.
And before you leave, if you’ve still got the energy, you can share your love and favourite moments of the series with the National Videogame Archives as they aim to produce video diaries of one of the most treasured games to bless the gaming industry.
World records, death defying quests, orchestras and a ton of prizes, the Zelda Takeover Day has something for everyone. From the long time to the newly introduced, join GameCity as they celebrate an anniversary to remember, with a day to remember.
