Top 10 Gaming Moustaches

Ever wondered how a moustache makes a man look? Well now’s your chance because Movember is finally here again! Guys everywhere are finding out what they look like with a furry top lip, raising money for charity and raising awareness of men’s health issues! Some people say Movember is an ugly month but can gaming characters convince those haters of the great moustache?

Here’s a top 10 list of gaming characters with facial hair in the spirit of Movember to educate you on arguably the greatest facial hair option known to man.

10) King Bomb-omb

The bottom of our list is an older one, King Bomb-omb from Super Mario 64. He actually called himself the ’Big Bomb-omb’ but we all knew he was the king. I don’t even remember his dialogue but I DO remember his moustache which is clear proof that moustache’s make you more memorable.

9)  Dr Robotnik (aka Egg man)

At number 9 we have Dr Robotnik the notorious villain from Sonic the Hedgehog. His moustache is eccentric to say the least although it does give Robotnik a more serious air about him, a once laughable egg man turned diabolical genius (thanks to the moustache).

8 ) Alakazam
Alakazam was one of the 151 original Pokémon and his moustache seems physically fused to his face (rather than grown). The Pokédex will tell you this Pokémon has an IQ of 5000 and while it won’t tell you the moustache is the source of this IQ, can you honestly say a man doesn’t look more intellectual with a Mo?

7) Heihachi

Here at number 7 we have Heihachi one of the main protagonists from the Tekken series. Not only is he one of the strongest fighters in the world he also sports some lovely facial hair. His moustache might not help him fight but it is definitely a prerequisite to becoming a martial arts master.

6) Wario

Wario was created as another antagonist to annoy Mario but unfortunately Mario only had time for Bowser so Wario moved on. His moustache seems to be two lightning bolts streaking out from under his nose making him look evil from the start.

 5) Shang Tsung

Shang Tsung is the original final boss of the first Mortal Kombat, his moustache shows how awesome he is. You know his primary ability is devouring defeated enemies souls? That’s pretty awesome.

4) Solid snake

Solid Snake is the main focus of the Metal Gear game series and the older he gets the more facial hair he gets. By the final game he’s sporting a large furry grey slug on his top lip; this shows how wise he is. The more experience he gets the bigger the moustache and so his moustache does the talking. He doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone and his moustache let’s people know he knows his stuff.

 3) Saxton Hale

When Valve created Mann Co, a fictional company in their Team Fortress 2 world they created Saxton Hale. A man so manly his chest hair grows back in 3 days, a man credited with inventing the high five and purchasing England. Having a moustache makes you manly, that’s a fact right there, you can’t argue with Saxton Hale.

2) Captain Price

Captain Price is a reoccurring character within the Infinity Ward developed Call of Duty games. His moustache is the classic handlebar which gives him a classic military leader look. This guy’s moustache is off the chart with awesome, it seems to influence everyone around him because they all listen to him and it can’t just be his rank.

1) Mario
This iconic hero was first given a moustache because the graphics of time made mouths difficult. That’s a good an excuse as any but Mario always gets the girl. A short plumber who wears dungarees isn’t usually going to pull anybody (except maybe Wednesday nights at Ocean) but when Peach saw ‘dat tash’ we can only assume she went wild.

So love or hate Movember, wearing a ‘Mo’ will make you seem manlier, more memorable and maybe a little bit evil too. Having a tash may also help you impress the ladies and you’ll probably perform better in tests too, you may even become a great leader. Games really do teach us a lot!  So if you haven’t been involved yet… you should get donating and get growing!
