Gary Speed’s death was confirmed in a statement by the Wales Football Association.
Rumours have speculated that the former Newcastle United and Wales midfielder may committed suicide in his own home however the Chesire Police have said that ‘there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death’.
The statement from the Welsh F.A said: “We extend our sympathies and condolences to the family. We ask that everyone respects the family’s privacy at this very sad time.”
