Competition: Win tickets to see new Disney sci-fi John Carter

From Academy Award-winning filmmaker Andrew Stanton, comes ‘John Carter’ – a sweeping action-packed adventure set on the mysterious and alien planet of Barsoom (lesser mortals may know it as Mars).

Based on the classic sci-fi novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, the film tells the story of John Carter (Taylor Kitsch), who is inexplicably transported to Mars where he becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions amongst the inhabitants of the planet, including Tars Tarkas (Willem Dafoe) and the captivating Princess Dejah Thoris (Lynn Collins).

In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter discovers that the survival of Barsoom and its people rests in his hands.

With a great production team including composer Michael Giacchino (who received numerous accolades for his work on previous Disney-Pixar films including Up) and director Andrew Stanton (who received awards for directing Wall-E and Finding Nemo as well as co-writing Toy Story), John Carter is sure to be a hit.

Released on Friday, March 9, Cineworld Nottingham is offering two pairs of tickets to see the 3D sci-fi sensation (including 3D glasses). All you have to do is answer the following question:

The original John Carter Series of books were written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, who also created which famous vine-swinging literary icon?

Send your answer, along with your name, in an email to culture@platform-online.net by midnight on Wednesday, March 7 (with ‘John Carter competition’ in the subject) . Winners will be able to choose which showing of the film they attend.
