Millions of people are expected to line the streets of central London to celebrate Team GB’s phenomenal success in the London 2012 Olympics after a Team GB victory parade has been announced for September.
All of Team GB’s Olympic and Paralympic competitors will be invited to take part in the parade, which will take place on the 10th September, the day of the closing ceremony of the Paralympics.
The parade is expected to begin at Guildhall, marching towards The Mall and Buckingham Palace, with more specific details about the planned celebrations being unveiled by the British Olympic Association in the near future.
A similar parade after the 2008 Olympics in Beijing, pictured above, saw hundreds of thousands of fans pack the streets of London as a 12-float procession travelled from Mansion House to Trafalgar Square, before the Olympians went on to meet the Queen at Buckingham Palace.
