Butterkist join forces with Benson Group to unveil design competition for UK students
Design students have been challenged by the popular popcorn brand Butterkist, as well as Benson Group to design a new package for Butterkist’s range of microwavable popcorn.
The companies are looking for an eye-catching design that stands out on shelves whilst also encouraging sharing popcorn at home amongst the family during a film night. The design of the packaging must also in-keep with the brands already established design guidelines in order to excite the panel that will be assessing the work.
Ultimately, one winner will be selected and awarded with the £250 cash prize as well as one week’s work experience at the Benson Group Design Studio. This will provide an excellent chance for students studying product design to enhance their CV’s by working closely with a respected and innovative UK-based packaging design company. Butterkist will also invite them on a tour of their head office and popcorn factory based in Pontefract. Runners up will be rewarded with a goody bag of Butterkist products and an Award Certificate for their effort.
The competition is open to all university students, with the deadline for registration falling on 1 November 2013. Physical entries must be submitted by the week beginning 4 November 2013.
