Trent’s Female Football Sides Get Off to a Flying Start

Last season couldn’t have finished any better for Nottingham Trent Women’s Football Club with all three teams winning their varsity matches, the first team winning promotion, and finally the thirds were allowed into BUCS after a long wait.

So with all three teams in the university league this year, hopes were high heading into the new season, and indeed things couldn’t have gone better on the opening day.

Unfortunately the second’s game was cancelled but the firsts and thirds headed away to commence the season; the firsts at Leeds Met and the thirds playing Aston University.

Although it chucked it down with rain so both teams came back with very wet socks they both got incredible results.  The first team won 4-0 in awful weather whilst the thirds dominated their game against Aston and managed to bag a huge victory in their first ever BUCS game by beating them 9-1.

Overall it’s a fantastic start for NTUWFC, and if the results can continue like this every week, it is going to be a very exciting season.
