How To Wear: Statement Necklaces

ASOS- £30

If there’s one trend you must follow this season, then it’s none other than statement necklaces. Jewelry is an inexpensive yet fun way to update your wardrobe and stay on trend. I’ll go through my favourite picks from the highstreet and tell you how I would style them…

This chunky chain necklace from ASOS (£35) would look really cool layered over a t-shirt and denim shorts. Add a dash of red lipstick and a sweep of eyeliner to add a bit of glamour to contrast with the tomboy feel of the outfit.

Accessorize- £15

I think this droplet necklace (Accessorize, £15) would look amazing on a night out, paired with a black LBD, a dark red clutch bag, and super high heels! Tie your hair into a bun so all attention is on the necklace, and get ready to paint the town red.

Chelsea Doll- £15

I absolutely love this gemstone necklace from Chelsea Doll (£15), it looks like something the girls off TOWIE would wear, and we all love a bit of Essex glamour. If you dare, try pairing this with a top that has a plunging neckline and keep everything else simple to really show it off.

Topshop- £15.50

This necklace (Topshop, £15.50) would look fab layered under a plain collared shirt, vintage denim would be even better. The eagle makes this necklace quite unusual so feel free to experiment with quirky extras such as a hat, printed trousers or bright bag

Miss Selfridge- £14

This necklace from Miss Selfridge (£14) is amazing, the mixed metal detailing and edgy shapes tick all the right boxes for this season.  I would choose to style it over a white shirt, making it stand out. Keep up the gothic grunge look by adding black leather shorts and loads of attitude.

Not On The High Street- £35

This tortoiseshell necklace from is a bit of a splurge at £35 (well for a student anyway!) but I honestly think it’s worth it. Unlike some other statement necklaces, you could definitely get away with wearing other jewelry with it. Think Vanessa Hudgens and try stacking up wooden bangles or pop a few gold rings on, anything that ties in with the colour theme will go, and add to the boho vibe.
