Brit Awards 2014: Fashion Round Up

Once again all eyes are on London for the annual BRITS awards. Tonight has been the best of recent years, with up and coming acts gracing the red carpet with their fresh take on individual style. These included Aluna Francis of AlunaGeorge who looked divine wearing a sheer pink ensemble from Antonio Berardi as well her performance outfit, white shorts, white bra with long line sheer white t shirt. Singer-songwriter Chlöe Howl wore a black feathered number with contrasting cut out black boots.  Iggy Azalea stunned in a red Elie Saab cut out gown with minimal accessories and hair in a subdued up-do.

brits2Some of my personal highlights included presenter Laura Whitmore wearing a Hasan Hejazi red metallic shift with sheer sleeves and cut out sides, London Grammar’s Hannah Reid looked glowing in a black Elie Saab gown, Fearne Cotton stunned in a silver metallic and sheer dress, as well as Lily Allen’s presenting dress House of Holland from the Autumn Winter 2014 collection and of course Beyoncé performed in a floor length glittering green gown that perfectly accentuated her silhouette from Vrettos Vrettakos. From these celebs choices we can bet that metallics and sequins are a key trend that is here to stay!

brits3Not forgetting the boys of the night, Tinie Tempah and Pharrell Williams were competing for best dressed man in music wearing a sparkling smooth textured Dolce & Gabbana suit jacket with velvet slippers and a dark metallic Lanvin suit and dickie bow tie respectively.  The show openers Arctic Monkeys looked polished in their dapper suits, including tartan check as well as velvet for their suit jackets. Nick Grimshaw mixed casual faded black jeans with his shiny spotted Gucci suit jacket and leopard print scarf. Labrinth stood out with his beautiful embroidered jacket from Louis Vuitton.  All in all, a great night for fashion and music.
