We proved to you that a student’s best friend was in fact a cookbook, as shown by the Amazon students survey. To celebrate your fine culinary skills, and get something back for actually making an effort when it comes to dinner-time, why not enter the first ever student cook of the year competition? Until the 31st December, you have the chance to win £1,000 worth of groceries. All you have to do is take a snap of a dish you have created, post it on Facebook or Twitter, along with its name and the hashtag #BacofoilStudentCook. Define those presentation skills, and unleash your inner creativity on the perfect name for your dish – you’ll be judged on the name.
Once you have been selected as one of the finalists, you will take part in a high-pressure culinary contest, in ready steady cook style. You will prepare a dish for celebrity judges chef and author Sam Stern, Masterchef Winner Steven Wallis, Bacofoil Marketing Manager Melissa Dickinson and Lulu Grimes, Deputy Editor at Olive Magazine.
So, do you think you have what it takes to be the first ever Bacofoil Student cook of the year winner? We think you do!
*Entrants can be of any age but must be currently studying at a UK university and have no professional cooking experience.
