Albums to look out for in 2015: Frank Ocean

Frank is set to release a new album at some point this year, having released a small (memrise) teaser towards the end of last year and a full length cover of ‘At Your Best (You Are Love)’ as a tribute to the late Aaliyah last week, we are now ready to see something that’s going to live up to massive success of Channel Orange. Frank successfully made pop cool back in 2012, since then he’s appeared in a few videos uncredited and worked on records with the likes of Beyoncé. So as he has been working behind the scenes and making small appearances here and there, the anticipation for this new rumoured album is building.

Frank is rumoured to be working with some pretty big names for this new album including Hit-Boy who worked on Niggas in Paris, and has partnered up with massive names like Drake and Nicki Minaj in the past. The other name that has surfaced is Rodney Jerkins who has worked with an unholy amount of the biggest names in the industry including Michael Jackson, Beyoncé, Mary J. Blige – the list goes on! A number of names Ocean has worked with before will also be collaborating with him again for the forthcoming release. Frank Ocean featured on a snippet of a Nas song last year, “No Such Thing As Black Jesus,” just to get everyone excited for what’s coming.

So will we see any more from Odd Future in this new Ocean instalment? Or another heavyweight in the same vein as Andre 3000? Perhaps a name from someone he’s been working with over the past two years. My money is on Beyoncé.
