V Day, doom day?

When you’re single, Valentine’s Day can seem like a lonely and pointless holiday exclusive only to those who are loved up in a relationship, although it doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom for singletons.

While the majority of loved-up couples will be splashing the cash on gifts, indulging in over-priced meals in busy restaurants and cosying up to strangers in the cinema, you can enjoy some peace and quiet and use the time for a little self-indulgence.

Make the most of having time to yourself and relax in front of the TV. Watch your favourite Netflix shows with a glass of wine and a good take-away. If you want to eat a whole tub of Ben and Jerry’s, who’s going to judge you?

If you don’t fancy an evening by yourself, arrange a movie night with your singe friends. An evening filled with wine, popcorn and plenty of Ryan Gosling = SO much better than being the 50th girl to Instagram a Pandora ring in a row.

Relish the fact that you don’t have to buy anyone else a gift and celebrate by treating yourself to something nice. There are so many cute pieces in the shops (intended to give clueless men an idea of what to buy their partners) so finding something you like is sure to be a breeze.

However you choose to spend Valentine’s Day, enjoy being free from the hassle of booking restaurant tables, shopping for gifts and arguing over what film to watch at the cinema. Enjoy being self-indulgent and treating the number one person in your life – you!
