20 year old rescued from City centre flat fire

A woman in her 20s was rescued from a burning flat in central Nottingham yesterday.

Firefighters responded to reports of a flat fire on Delta Court, just off North Sherwood Street, at 9.22am.

A ladder was used to access the third floor flat, and firemen had to break through a window to rescue the woman.

The female was treated for smoke inhalation by paramedics from East Midlands Ambulance Service.

Four fire crews, paramedics and police responded to the emergency, and North Sherwood Street was briefly cordoned off.

Trent Textiles student Paula Barton said ‘I woke up to the sound of sirens, and looked out of my window to see firemen with breathing gear climbing into a flat.’
