Beeston’s award winning Oxjam Music Festival is celebrating its 5th birthday this year with yet another musical extravaganza!
Following on from two sell out years, more than 100 local artists and bands will perform a wide range of live music at 15 different venues across Nottingham on Saturday 17th October from 12pm to 2am.
Headlining venues including Bartons, Victory Club, Star Inn, White Lion Bar & Kitchen, and the Chequers Inn, music will feature something for everyone, from classical music to DJ sets.
The event is part of the national Oxjam music festival featuring over 50 towns and cities across the UK. Last year around 3,000 people attended Oxjam Beeston, which attracted music goers from across the UK.
All venues are free before 6pm, but wristbands are required after and give exclusive entry to every venue.
The Beeston Music Festival has helped to launch the careers of local musicians such as Saint Raymond, Miss 600 and Kagoule. This year the line-up includes Josh Kemp, The Jar Family, Esther Turner, IVORYSERFS, Molly and Jack, and many many more!
The Festival aims to create a community feel and promote local talent, as well as raise money for Oxfam. Since starting in 2011, the Festival has raised over £30,000 for charity and won two national awards from Oxfam for the Best Partnership and Best Community Festival.
In 2015 the team was a runner up in the ‘I love Beeston’ Community Award category. The Music Festival is the peak of numerous fundraising events held throughout the year including a Music Quiz, Rock Night and Comedy evening.
Tickets are available for £6, and can be purchased online from www.oxjambeestontakeover.org. Oxjam Beeston relies on a large number of musicians, sound engineers and volunteers to help make the event so successful. If you’d like to get involved, then please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
