Hip-hop and dancehall titans Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul are set to see out this year’s Bestival with a bang. The duo will co-headline the Sunday night closing party, joining Diplo’s Major Lazer and alt-rock icons The Cure at the top of the bill.
The Isle of Wight festival, which this year is themed around ‘The Future’, has also announced Glass Animals and Crystal Fighters will grace their Big Top stage.
Both Sean Paul and Wiz Khalifa are UK festival exclusives, meaning Bestival is the only place to catch the pair this summer.
Wiz Khalifa said: “Can’t wait to be back in the UK and perform at Bestival. The fans here have such good energy, it’s going to be lit.”
Following their headline performances the sky above the festival will be filled with the lights and sounds of Purple Rave, a special audio-visual fireworks tribute to Prince, featuring Bestival curator Rob da Bank, Tayo and more.
Da Bank himself said: “We love a big finale at Bestival, we also love hip-hop and dancehall and a massive soundsystem superclash between Wiz Khalifa and Sean Paul seems like a solid plan to close off another big weekend of music of raving, partying and expanding your minds at Bestival. Pull up!”
Also on the bill for the September event are Leftfield, Carl Cox, Fatboy Slim, Wolf Alice, Bastille, Skepta, Mura Masa, The Human League and many, many more across a number of stages.
