Feeling the pressure from exams and deadlines? Take some time out to soak in some of Nottingham’s art scene. We’ve chosen our three favourite exhibitions around the city this month.

The Place Is Here – Nottingham Contemporary
Based around the questions of representation, identity and what culture was in the 1980s. This exhibition encompasses sculpture, painting, photography, film and archives. The exhibition brings together more than 30 artists to culminate into a collective where there really is something for everyone.

Showing from 04 Feb 2017 – 30 Apr 2017
Free Admission

All Men By Nature Desire To Know – Bonnington Gallery
Painting. That once dominant medium. This exhibition explores four artists who consider painting an important part of their artistic practice but use it in non-traditional ways.
Showing from 13 Jan 2017 – 17 Feb 2017
Free Admission

‘Getting to know’ by Alice Gale-Feeny – Nottingham Castle Art Gallery
This show is made of three separated, yet interlinked pieces of video work. They include moving image, text and narration. Exhibited in the castle gallery this is the much needed moving image exhibition Nottingham was waiting for.
Showing from 22 October 2017 – 12 March 2017
For student’s admission is £5
